Dr. Michael Muzzin, DC, FCCSS (C)

Dr. Michael Muzzin is the founder and president of Active Care Health and a leader in his field. A wealth of sport injury experience combined with his passion and love of sports has inspired Dr. Muzzin to help amateur and professional athletes achieve optimal health and performance using a combination of Chiropractic and Active Release (soft tissue) Technique.

Through his experience and passion for helping people realize active and healthy lifestyles, Dr. Muzzin has identified Five Key Aspects of Optimal Health:

Exercise, Nutrition, Rest, Mental Health, Spinal Health
(nerves, muscles, bones)

Dr. Muzzin believes the human body (infant to senior) has an amazing ability to heal itself given the chance. Each one of the five aspects of optimal health is a vital link that forms a strong chain; of course a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Dr. Muzzin emphasizes each of these aspects, and as a Chiropractor he specializes in Spinal Health.

Dr. Muzzin first became interested in Chiropractic at the age of twelve. Young Michael injured his shoulder playing fastballand was sent for Chiropractic care by his coach. The results were felt instantly and Michael was amazed and impressed with the power of Chiropractic. From then on, Chiropractic became his preferred method for treatment of his sports injuries and an inspriration for his future vocation.

After ten years of post-secondary education including a four year doctoral program at the Canadian Memorial ChiropracticCollege (Toronto, ON) and a three year fellowship in Sports Science (earning him the designation FCCSS (C) Fellowship of Chiropractic Sports Science (Canada), Dr. Muzzin started his first practice in Whitby, ON in 1988. In 1994 he founded the Active Care Chiropractic Corporation in Kelowna.

Currently the team chiropractor for the Kelowna Rockets hockey team and Kelowna Falcons baseball team, Dr. Muzzin has previously been the official Chiropractor for the 2004 Memorial Cup Hockey Championships as well as the World Junior Hockey Championships. It was with great honor that Dr. Muzzin recently accepted a position on the Chiropractic Medical Team for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

Originally from Campbell River, BC, Dr. Muzzin now lives with his family in Kelowna. When he's not at the office, Dr. Muzzin can be found skiing on either the lakes or slopes (depending on the season) of the beautiful Okanagan Valley.
